Horizontal sliding sash windows
Diamond pattern Yorkshire sliding sash windows built as part of the ongoing refurbishment of a 17th century farmhouse. Modern seals have been discretely installed to keep the windows draught free. As there were no suitable runners available for this size and type of window we built our own bearing mounted runners to ensure decades of trouble -free use. The bearings are built into the sashes and cannot be seen keeping a perfectly authentic traditional look. To finish the job, we removed the vertical shutters then stripped, repaired, re-finished and installed them with new cords and weights. (A clear finish was used on the shutters at the customer's request)
